Welcome to Steps To Building Your Own House !
I decided to start this blog to document my journey into this huge project so that I could help other wanting to do the same. I know from experience that its quite a challenge and to some including my wife JoAnne quite a risk. However I have always been handy, and I hedge my bet having my cousin Allan involved into a few of the steps, being a 30 year veteran of the industry.
To those on the fence a project of this magnitude is doable if informed, the truth is that most individuals or trades are professionals, do your do diligence and your project will be completed without any mishaps. Ours went extremely well, I will be doing it again soon. We are extremely please with the outcome of our home, specially knowing every detail of construction and that its extremely well built.
One confession as I type, its December 2010 and the house is complete but this blog is still on the footings, guess its time to get all this information I have on hand posted.
